If anyone has ever done this before or has seen this happen. Help me fix it. Im told I click my mouse to fast and this time it caught up to me. Lets start with the system. Shuttle X FN41G2V2, Onboard GeForce2 Chipset, just got it from a buddy, Not much else is important. I was changing my display settings trying to find the right resolution when i accidently made my secondary screen port the primary display. using a little checkbox at the bottom. Stupid thing to do without a second monitor. The "now primary" secondary monitor port gave no signal to the screen. and the primary port was the extended desktop where you cant do anything other than right click to get options....unfortunately that window was on the primary screen. So after about a minute or two of fishing i got it back on to the extended desktop and changed the settings back to the way they were. This is where everything went wrong. The screen shut off. Now niether the primary or secondary port where showing anything. I plugged in an old AGP Geforce2 Card....and got my screen back on that....i used it to reset the video drivers. When this happened it asked me to restart computer....when computer came back on....nothing worked...not the onboard, not the AGP. I believe its a BIOS problem...only because at startup nothing comes on the screen...the screen doesnt even turn on. it just stays off as if the computer was off. But the computer runs. It just doesnt do anything. Someone give an opinion. Anybody seen that happen before? This is me right now >>

Have you tried booting in to Safe Mode, and do a system restore to a point before you changed the graphics settings?

Safe Mode and restore point would be the way to go.....if i could ever see it.
OS is Win XP Pro SP3. Im considering getting the bios replaced. If it doesnt help at least its cheap. The final problem of absolutly no video occured after reinstalling Nvidia video driver for GeForce2 Chipsets and restarting the system. Anybody think maybe its the monitor...if the video card driver reset than maybe the settings are not right for the monitor...its a dell with a 1440 x 900 native resolution. I dunno. I appreciate anything you guys could do to help. |

Do you get output when it startup ie the bios screen ok? if so then its down to the refresh rate to high for the monitor but dells are normally very good with that. Ideally install a bog standard card to get it back up and running or try another monitor which may work if you have one
