Hi folks, I got a nasty virus last week, and so decided to reformat my Dell Inspiron Laptop (which was bought from a friend about a year ago) with XP Pro SP3.

All successful, however its clear that none of the drivers have installed?

It first came to light when I went into Network Connections to find my wireless connection and get up and running on the net, but its not there at all.

The screen is in 32bit and no option to change it any better.

What am I going to do?

Do you have the Dell Resource CD's that came with the laptop?

unfortunately not, as I bought the laptop from a friend a few years ago and the cd was lost!

Do you have access to another PC? We will need to use that to find and download the drivers.

I have access to a PC yes, im using it now.

I am on the DELL wesbite and found the part where the drivers are listed for each Model.

Ive selected mine (Inspiron 6400) and I see there are lots, many of them updates or for things i dont recognise?

If you look on the bottom of your laptop you will see a 6 digit number. This is your Service Tag. We can narrow these drivers specifically to your model via this tag.

On the screen you are currently looking at you should see a place to enter your service tag and get the drivers list

Yep, just entered the service tag, (should I post that on here too?) and it says Results for ***** as shipped (19 files)
