Hi

I have got a desktop with win XP Professional SP3 installed ,,,,it is working fine in normal mode.

I was trying to access the X professional in the safe mode (just for testing purpose,,,,) I can see the login screen for the administrator account but whenever I typed the password it keeps getting restarted (i.e. I can not log in the safe mode)

I tried as well : “ Safe mode with networking “ ,,,,still same problem.

How can I overcome this issue

Seems to me that it doesn't want you doing what you are trying. "testing purposes only" usually means something more.

Log in to Safe Mode via the admin account??? Mmmm how strange.

Have you tried tapping F8 on boot up?

Can i get into a safe mode without pressing F8 on boot up time ?


Even does not work in a normal user account ,,,,although I don't why it is strange of doing that (Do u mean a security implication of doing that ?)

I don't know exactly what you are trying to achieve here Zillah but you can't get into Safe Mode whilst you are actively in Windows.

You have to tap F8 to get to Safe Mode.

Are you talking about a password screen that comes up immediately on boot up?

Of course and of course I did not mean that I want to access the safe mode while I am using windows,,,,,,,,by the way can that be done ?

I am saying when I restatred windows then in the boot up time I kept hitting F8 button to be presented with a list, the first option in the list is safe mode,,,,when I pressed that I was able to be in the login screen for the safe mode ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,up to now is it okay ?

in the safe mode when I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Delete to login (admin account) ,,,,,,I just entered passowrd for admin it gets restarted,,,,and same thing happened with a normal user when i tried that.

Can I conjecture that this issue has nothing to do with Safe Mode at all but the fact that you can't get into an admin account?
