Angry @ icons - REALLY frustrating Stupid problem..

HELP PLEASE!!

Yea - I'm shouting but I was bound and determined to solve this myself.,(again)......

It's 'happened' again..I feel so lame

So after two days of trying alternately to fix or ignore my "issue" I'm going to quit wasting time, money and much needed opportunities for the bliss of sleep and ASK.

Please take pity.

WinXP - QuickLaunch toolbar added to the taskbar -

HOW IN @#$% DO I GET THE ICONS BACK TO A REASONABLE SIZE?

This has happened to me maybe 3 or 4 times since XP went Beta - I don't know what obviouysly malignant ghosts in my machine (I wouldn't have done it----maybe the dog?) want to keep messing with me.

Here I am with a 4TB raid 3[?] MESS to recover and have gor ZAR spinning along finely - This was after spending about 2 hours getting the NAT case open in case the power supply hadn't fried the whole thing and tring NOT to act as flustered as I am over ICONNSS...

It's been one of those weeks. I suppose that the case would have been easier to open if I hadn't lost my pocket kit off my motorcycle and my car had not decided that it wanted to live with someone else, I had to pick it up about 120 miles away.

Anyways....If you read this far, thank you.

If you can help - please do.

I am NOT a Space Cadet. I was promoted to Admiral years ago!

Sorry but I have no idea what your talking about Scritter, do you mean Desk Top icons or just an enlarged Task Bar.

I advise you calm down mate or a hernia will be your next issue lol.

??????

I don't have to lift them...
These are on my desktop not my netbook.

It's my Hair I'm worried about!

Thanks for your time.

O.K. {deeeeep breath}

XP taskbar.

Desktop Icons are not displayed - I keep them in a toolbar on my taskbar. I keep my taskbar along the left side, I have been doing theis since WIN98.

right click desktop.
click arrange icons.
UNcheck show desktop icons.

right click taskbar.
click toolbars.
click desktop.

right click taskbar.
click toolbars.
click quicklaunch.

All good for over four years. Now This happens.
AGAIN

I'm going along swimmingly until --

+++insert approiate ominous music+++

--- All of a sudden my quicklaunch has icons that rival the largest default size for regular desktop icons on a 135cm display and are about a third again the size of those in the start menu. (a very good example..-- but only if you chose large icons AND went to display and changed the screen resolution due to blindness you sit less than a meter away and really did have that 135cm LCD)

Neea------ I really needed that deep breath earlier!

The problem is going to be weather I can pay my bills due to mass annootance factor inthat I can only fis four oppen window icons on my taskbar and still see all of them!!!!

Resizing the quicklaunch is all good but if the bar is 2 icons wide my quicklaunch bar goes three quarters to my clock. What with a mini media player also living on (what I would again like to be) a Thin Grey Line.............................................. .................................

Whatwas that?

OCD?

who me?

Seriously, It's driving me nuts.

If I use an american quarter on my 17" screen those

"Icons"

don't fit under without showing icon underwear.

Yesterday, upon the stair-

I saw a man who wasn't there.

He wasn't there again today.

I wish, I wish he'd go away........

Go here and download TweakUI (you will have to scroll down the page a bit the download link is on the right hand side), when you install it open it up to the Repair section at the bottom of the list.

In the right hand pane you will have a option box to Rebuild Icons, click on Repair Now and this should fix your problem.

You will need to reboot your computer for the changes to come into effect.

I have used this tool with success numerous times as well...
