just a beginner. in trying to close some of the start up programs,to increase speed, i went to MSCONFIG but not sure what I did because now I get this message- Failed to start the Control Center 2.0. Required Registration information is missing. Reinstall MFL-Pro suite. (CC025)

This is on my PC. I am using my laptop now. Please help- the PC is not usable at this point. thanks

you may have done nothing wrong, just performed an update.

I got the impression that the software is an OCR application, if it is so, and you have a CD try re-installing it, however it may still not work.

I also found that it does not work with Vista.

What Operating System were you using on your Desktop PC?

The only disc I have is the operating system disc and it says if i reinstall it eraces all data and files from the hard drive. What is sthe MFL-Pro suite? right now I can not do anything on the pc. can't connect to internet just keep getting error messages. the blue line at the bottom where the start up menu is now white

I recommend pressing F8 during boot to enter Safe Mode.
Then uninstall all brother sofware/drivers.

Try then:
Put you Windows CD in the tray
Press the keys: Windows+R
Type: cmd
On the prompt type: sfc /scannow
Press Enter

will that erace everything on my hard drive? I had brother printer but have HP now I have totally lost the internet connection

No, you won't lose anything.

sfc /scannow is System File Checker, it checks the digital signature of the core windows files, and tries to restore any corrupted ones from the CD.

I was on the phone with AT&T because i can not connect to the DSL on PC but still can connect on laptop through the router on the PC. they told me I had erased my computer registration or something like that and then wanted to connect me to their "for a fee" service to help fix.
