Hey all... this probably sounds kinda sad, but, if i dont get this sorted im in trouble...

My dad has his computer in his shed, with no insulation.. it backs onto the tin, and is never covered. One moment it was working fine, then after a few cold mornings, when i turned it on it took forever to load up, and when it did the screen looked scrambled, so to speak. and nothing i did could make it do anything. it just froze at the desktop, and i had the start box outlined, but the word 'start' was gone. etc etc. My partner managed to get on there a few hours later and had it working, and managed to do a system restore, then when i turned it on again it froze just after the windows logo screen. its running winXP. Now, my theory is that condensation got into the system, but it also kinda looks as though it could be viral related... and if it matters, the last thing we downloaded was the new I.E...[i think it was 8]. if anyone knows of anything i can try to fix it before my dad gets home..[in about 12 hrs] id appreciate it!!

and sorry if this doesnt make sense.... im running out of avenues... panic mode is ready to click in!
