just installed xp pro and having a lot of problems with windows update. everytime a go to load the update site up, it seems to load to google instead !
i have had this problem before a few years back last time i installed a new copy and a think it had something to to with my proxy, i think.
soo can nayone help me please ?

A quick look around on windows update redirect, found references to Trojan/malwares.
Surprisingly, some managed to resolve the issue by using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ......

Following on from georgeks post I'd like to suggest that you do the Prework ( Follow the link in my Signature), and when done post copy and paste the resulting logs back here in this thread.
We can then ask the Security team to check them for nasties after which we can either get you clean or look towards another solution.
