Windows XP/2000 - hibernate problem posted in the Operating Systems forums; it did the same when trying to do that....

You are using a USB mouse, correct? Could you please run for a day or 2 with a PS/2 mouse? Let me know if that makes any difference.

You also might want to boot into your BIOS. Hibernation support is something that is being controlled from your BIOS. There are different settings for hibernation. STR/POS and another one. Try changing that setting and see if it helps. The difference is in how it will go to hibernation, and what it will keep powered.
