You asked if I had the XP cd that came with the computer, which I do not since its running Vista. I do however have an XP cd from my tower. I plan to use that disc.

Maybe someone would make me a XP slipstream disk for Intel GM965 chipset sata dirvers.??? or a floppy with the correct driver on it. I cant seem to make either. They want 175.00 to fromat computer and install XP at the shop.

Hi AustinF,
Do you have a floppy drive you could use to save the files to. Does the computer you're trying to install on have a floppy drive? If so let me know and post a link to the drivers you need to install on the floppy - just copy the files to the floppy and press F6 during the installation. It will then later prompt you to insert the floppy with the drivers. |

I think I have a simple solution to this problem. Replace hard drive with IDE instead of Sata. XP recognizes IDE. Problem solved

Yes that should work and you could use your sata drive for storing files on afterwards.
