Hi mm35,

It looks like it has lost the drive letter, it won't appear in My Computer unless it has a drive letter assigned. Follow the steps below to assign a new letter.

1. Right-click the partition in the window you have provided a screenshot for.
2. Click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
3. Click Add
4. Click Assign the following drive letter and then click the drive letter you want to use.
5. Click OK.
6. Exit out of Computer Management.

That should fix it, open My Computer to check its worked.

I'm not quite sure what would be causing that, I will do some research and get back to you.

In the meantime you could try it in Safe Mode. To access safe mode press F8 on boot before the Windows XP loading bars and select Safe Mode.

Ok tried that no luck, also noticed the mediadirect is a unknown partition ?
I can right click on that but cannot change the drive letter, only one that seems to have options is my C drive.
Have no Idea what the media drive is for ? anyway rather focus on first problem.......Thanx for looking into this......

Hi mm35,

The MediaDirect partition is a partition from Dell which was installed on the system when you bought it.

Was the partition with the problem there when you got the PC, and did it have anything on it?
