Default Prodikeys PC-Midi install error

Greetings team! I tried installing Prodikeys PC-Midi, but an error box appeared and read "Set up is unable to initialize the installation program". After I close the box, the install continues and seemingly finishes, although the only program actually working is the PC keyboard. There is no midi device detected in my Sonar recording software nor is the program showing up in the "Add/Remove Programs" from the control panel. I tried re-installing several times with the same result. I believe I have met all the requirements for this install. Any ideas?

I hope so, because I've gotten zilch from the support at Creative Labs.

In order to help you better, I need to know which windows version you are trying to install the device to, and I also need to know which of the different Prodkeys you're having. I've scouted the creative forum a bit and alot of problems with solutions are being posted there, but it is a bit hard to give you a solution if I don't know what prodikeys and OS you're having.

Feel free to browse the forum yourself: Musical Keyboards - Creative Labs

And if you find something that fixes your issue, can you report back to us?

Sorry..I thought that was in my profile....XP Pro SP2 and Prodikeys PC-Midi. I also scoured the site and found nothing pertaining to my particular error pop up.

I can't think of anything else than it might be a problem with your cd.

In order to combat this, can you try downloading this:
Prodikeys_PC-MIDI.rar Download File

It contains the drivers from your cd.

Please tell me if you can install that, and if it gives errors or not.

Thanks for the help, but Creative finally got back with me and suggested a clean boot after deleting all the files I could find on my computer pertaining to prodikeys. The clean boot was the answer and the install went perfectly. I now have both keyboards working and the midi device is recognized in my Sonar recording software. I am playing and recording on my soft synths with zero latency...Yipeeeeee!!
