I suggest that you change your wallpaper with a third Party app like Irfan View I use this to change my desktop wallpaper. This is a freebie app as well.

Quick and dirty method of using it to set a wallpaper.

Open Irfan View, select the pix you want. Then select Options / Set as Wallpaper / Centered.
