Ok I finally fired up speedfan, CPU temp is being reported the same as PC Probe II around 27-30 degrees but core temp is like 50-54 degrees.

Am now going to run prime95 to see if anything happens.

Ok, prime95 going strong, CPU temp at 75degrees and coretemps hoverinmg at 98 degrees. That would be Celsius.
Mobo temp risen to 52 degrees from 50 degrees.
Am going to switch from small FFT to large FFT.

EDIT: large FFT also give me no clue. Though the temps rise like crazy.
Tried to stress the GPU with 3 instances of RTHDRIBL. GPU temp tops out at 68 degrees. but MOBO temp rises to 55 degrees.
No restarts at all.

Perhaps I should test for longer than 10 mins each.

Quasi,

The referral is out there. I'll monitor things to ensure that you receive support.

Best of luck!

Hello, those temps arent very bad. Well, the Core temps are definitely off, there is no way they are 100 celsius. things would be frying left and right. Those are almost always off when using Speedfan. the CPU temp is the one you want to look at, and it is a little high under load. But if it is crashing when not under load, it leads me to think it isn't a overheating problem. I have kind of the same problem now, with this processor. All of a sudden out of nowhere, itll just hard lock. I will be replacing the processor shortly, and if that solves the problem, I will pass it on to you

Ya I know the temps are off. I believe I need to offset that by 15 degrees for q6600.
Unfortunately we might not have the same problem, cause my PC has never actually locked up. It'll just restart without any BSOD, no disk check on restart and no minidumps. Nothing.
The only indication that my PC even had a problem will be eventlog saying ati2mtag error.

UPDATE: ran prime95 for 10.5 hours. absolutely no errors or restarts.
Am going to run RTHDRIBL over today and see if anything changes.
Also, coretemp reprts the same core temps as speedfan. So, i'm going to go with speedfan for now.

Like I said, ignore the Core Temps. Use only the CPU temp label.
