Default XP Boot problem

So i'm on my computer the other day and all of a sudden everything starts getting very slow. So i go to the task manager and see that my CPU usage is at 100%. Couldn't believe it so i did a restart. All the startup processes were running slow and when i got to the login screen I got the blue screen of death.

I booted in safe mode and did scans with SUPERantispyware and Malwarebytes but still couldn't boot after quarantine.

My guess was the new video card i installed. It was working just fine for a week prior to this. But maybe driver problems can cause this? Suggestions?

Welcome back to PCHF.......

So 'cos of the CPU percentage something is happening in the background so please follow the PreWork link as below.

However if you feel it's the graphics card replace it with something mundane & see what happens!

I don't think its the graphics card or the drivers. I can't see how thats giving a 100% CPU usage.

I also recommend to do the PreWork first.

Secondly, its handy to know what process is giving 100% cpu usage. You can see this on the processes tab in the taskmanager (press CTRL-ALT-DEL to activate the taskmanager).

Do you possibly have spyware? Try doing some prework
