Your XP system likely has a rectangular tag somewhere on it that has your XP license version and code. Please note the version showing and then check with friends, family, or work to see if you can borrow a like disk. Saves you from having to purchase something that you already "own" - a license for anyway.

Let me get this moved back to the Operating Systems area of the forum and I'll take you through the reinstall.

I asume yiour talking about the little tag on the case that has the serial number, model number and key code?

I am going to have to purchase the XP Full disk as I do not know anyone, I am disabled and pretty much stay in the house or yard. Also just so you know why I have problems follwing you poeple on the computer things is I am 73 next month and I grew up when we had Radio's and no T.V. until the late 40's,, So do you know some site that sell's the XP home version?

OK,, I have an XPhome sp2 disk and I found the key number on the computer. I installed the disk, re-booted held down the F-10 key and from that point on I got lost. Dont know if I should have pushed it but the disk didn't boot up ,,, H E L P ! ! ! lol

DCiAdmin isn't on tonight and he left me a message that,, Elpmek, Bli, Jay2, Arctos, LPChip could help me with this problem. Are any of you out there and not busy?
