It can happen that when you have a device, it either gives a name for that device, or in your case it says Hard Drive Group. As I pointed out earlier, I'm only using screenshots from my Bios. Your view might be different, and so it appears that it is.
Did you make changes to this screen, or was like this when you entered the BIOS screen? Because the setting as it is now, could already work.

Okay.
I have 2 questions for you. What exactly happens when you insert the WindowsXP Setup cd in your computer and you boot? Do you perhaps have 2 CD/DVD players in your computer?

Ah okay, so you can actually get in the Setup! I didn't got that part.
That means the CD is working, and your BIOS settings are also correct. Just for my information, the blue screen gives you the STOP: INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE (0x0000007b) error, right?

I think that is what it was,, went back to see where I posted the error but this one I got when I had pushed on the F-10 key
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} This session manager initilization system precess terminated unexpectadly with status of 0xc00000013 (0x00000000 0x00000000). I found it ~ ~ Here is the original ERROR,,, I was about to do a re-format and I have the XP home disk, but when I put it in the computer I got the following message on a "BLUE" screen A problem has been detected and Window's has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this STOP ERROR screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controller. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restrat your computer. Technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7A22524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 Thats the end of the message I did not want to manually shut down the computer until I could have someone see this message Last edited by homeinspec; 05-01-2009 at 08:55 PM. |

So in the windows setup screen after you entered your keycode, you get the C000021a Fatal error, right?
I need to make sure that we're troubleshooting the right blue screen, because the reinstall should take care of the 0x0000007B one.
