XP - reoccuring scandisk on bootup

I have a hard drive J: every time I bootup WinXP windows does scandisk on the drive because it needs to be checked for consistency.

I don't know how to remove this scan please help.

Have you actualy left scandisk finish or are you exiting it before it is finished?

When you say you have a hard drive J: is that the drive on which your OS is working from or is it an external USB drive or a memory stick?
