Default hp pavilion dv8000 turn on/off problem

hi people i recently got given a hp pavilion dv8000 laptop from someone to fix. the main problem is that the laptop will not turn on, i am starting to wonder if it is as simple as a loose connection. i have tried a few things like a replacement battery and jump starting the mobo and all attempts have failed could you please suggest other possibilities that could work thanks.

Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.

Have you tried without the battery and only the power cord charger connected.

As it is a laptop it is possible it has over heated and killed the PSU.

However I have marked your thread as "Open" to receive some help with your issue.

When you have followed these fine ladies instructions then you might look in this Service manual for answers.

If the PSU is find the the connector on the motherboard may be at fault. I have fixed many bad solder joints on the power connections.
