I need a download link to windows XP service pack 2, I have SP 1 installed and running, but most programs want SP 2. Please post a link to a secure download, as untill I get SP 2, I have no antivirus program installed.

Can anyone also link to a free virus scanner? I have no money, so please, No 30 day trials.

I agree with Matt AVG free is great.

Please remember to fully update your computer with Microsoft updates/patches and your hardware drivers before installing a service pack.

Also run an Antivirus and clean out your temp files,cookies and history before installing a SP.

Ive gone to microsoft.com to have them check my computer for needed updates, as of now, the only one the site lists is SP 2. Can I update straight to SP 3 without the second one?

I have also tried avg free, It wont install without at least SP 2.

Ok did you try Arctos link for SP3?

If it would not install then install SP2 first.

Also, make sure that the servicepack language matches your OS's language, or it will complain about that, and simply not work. X)
