I have a HP Desktop using windows xp. I was cleaning my computer one day to clean desktop off of junk then I think I accidently deleted the search assistant and now I get a blank screen. please help so that I can use my desktop again.

Let's try this: Please click on the System File Checker link in my signature and follow the instructions. That should restore the search assistant
