Well, a few days ago I ran into problems with my operating system. So I got Norton Partition Magic, ran the supplied PQBoot.exe and picked my eRecovery partition. So all went well, it restored to factory, and then I closed eRecovery.
The problem is, whenever I boot, it loads eRecovery and doesn't give me an option to load my other partitions (which have Windows 7 and Windows XP Media Center).
My laptop only has a DVD-rom drive, I have access to a computer with a CD burner for now though.
I have a ton of CD-Rs and CD-RWs and I have a flash drive. Any help on booting my other partitions would be extremely appreciated.

try this right click "My Computer" click properties..When the window pops up click Advanced tab..
Next click the third option "startup and recovery..Click settings.. Next you will see an edit button.. Press that and copy and paste what it says in your next post!

I can't boot up Windows at all. It automatically runs Acer eRecovery.

Ummm. Have you ever tried booting without Norton Partition Magic Disc inside your DVD-ROM Drive? Cause you said: So I got Norton Partition Magic, ran the supplied PQBoot.exe and picked my eRecovery partition. After you finish it, when you reboot, you should take out that cd/disc.
Oh, I just found these on the Acer's support page: Restore system to factory default
When setup is complete a process will clean up the recovery files. Please be patient as this process can take 5-10 minutes or longer." I think you should look at where I quoted. Last edited by zzang; 04-05-2009 at 04:00 AM. |

So, should I try just letting my PC boot and then walking away?
Also, I don't have the Partition Magic CD in anymore. I installed it and then put it away. |

If you used PQBoot to set the recovery as the main partition it's always going to load that partition at startup.
You need to go back into PQboot and set the other partitions you want to be able to boot as well - not just the recovery one. |
