Hello. The other day I was upgrading to SP3 for XP. I was installing Windows Media Player 11 when it said "Setup could not complete because the integrity of 'Upgrade.inf' could not be verified. Please make sure Cryptographic service is running and try again." I will try System Restore, but for right now, I would just like to see if anybody could help without having me lose all my data, even though it's backed up to an external 1.5 TB hard drive. Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a nice day!

Hiyaz jmarket!
Once your Restore to SP2 works, stay there. This is a personal opinion, yes, but trying WPM 11 is simply not something you need doing on XP. This wouldn't be during or because of a recent update, perhaps? I'll mark this open to encourage the clever ones to come take a look! Thanks for your patience ![]() |

Thanks. One thing I forgot to mention was that anytime I wanted to install Windows-related applications, not just WMP, I would get the same message. So, I tried System Restore, but somehow the jumps in the code got switched, so it was inactive. I just re-installed SP2 and everything is back to normal. SP3 still has bugs in it, so I'll wait a little longer before trying again. Thanks anyways for your help and have a nice day!
