Hello i am using xp pro and have 2 issues.
My new keyboard is ps2 connection but the pc is a usb connection.I have bought the connectors that convert ps2 to usb but when connected to the pc i receive a message that reads usb device not found etc.
Also every now and then my monitor switches off.I check the settings where it shows switch off monitor if not used in 20 minutes.I have changed this setting to never, clicked apply then ok.Every now and then the monitor switches off still and the settings have reverted back to switch off monitor if not used in 20 minutes.
I did a search but did not find the answer any help would be nice.
Thanks

As for your first concern,
Open your Device Manager Click on View ... Show hidden devices Make a snapshot of the Device Manager and post it in your reply. Please do not modify the appearance of the Device Manager. Here is how to make a snapshot. Use the <Alt><Prnt Scrn> option. http://www.pchelpforum.com/new-membe...reenshots.html As for the monitor setting, sometimes a Microsoft update can reset the monitor and power shutdown settings. For now, I'd just set them to the settings you want and just keep an eye on them.

I cant do that as the keyboard does not work,i can plug in the old usb mouse and navigate to device manager etc but i then cant take a screen shot as the print screen option will not work due to the keyboard not being found.

OK. An image is the easiest way, but go ahead and open your Device Manager as indicated in the other post. Tell me if you have any devices with a ! or ? They should be yellow and will stand out like a sore thumb.
You don't have to open any of the categories. If you have a device with a ! or ? the category will already be open.

While this problem shouldn't occur, the simplest fix is to get a keyboard with a USB connector.
It's possible the problem is with the keyboard or adapter. If you still have the receipt, perhaps you can exchange it t the store.
