New to this so bear with me!
My latop (Sony VIAO VGN s2xp) is causing me some distress.
It was fine until recently and I cannot place exactly where it all started but currently:
I cannot defrag
The wireless internet will not connect and DHCP will not start in the service window
The tool bar does not boot up properly and remains grey
USB sticks are not recognised
Network cable does not connect
I put on Macafee a few days ago then took it off and am currently scanning with AVG and Adaware but I cannot udate these as I cannot connect to the net.
Read allsorts of threads on allosrts of websites (on my desk top) but I cannot understand it all. I did find a recycler file on a sub stick and have now formatted my sticks but apart from scanning not sure what to do next?

I'd suggest do a System Restore prior to a date your problems started.
