Hi all
I've got a Compaq running Windows XP. The problem is - when I try to put it in Standby mode, it does it's little shutdown routine, but then kicks back on after a minute or so. I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I can't figure out what to do.

Hi there and welcome to PCHF
Coming out of standby can be triggered by a keypress, power switch or move of the mouse. Try a little test... Unplug your mouse (I'm assuming it's a laser mouse) - then try putting the PC in standby. Does it start up again?
