Good Morning,
I recently decided to build a second pc from the left over parts from my last upgrade. A buddy from work said he had a tower I could have. I needed a tower, PSU, HDD, and sound card. I was expecting a tower and PSU.
What he gave me was a complete tower. Here are the specs:
Mobo: MSI ms7030 ver.1 K8N neo platinum [nVidia]
Bios: AwardBios v6.00PG
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2.01ghz
VGA: nVidia 7300gt 512mb [mine]
Memory: Corsair 2.5gb 184 pin 400mhz
HDD 1: Maxtor 160gb [Windows XP] not working at the time I recieved it.
HDD 2: Maxtor 80gb [Linux ver. ?] I know nothing about Linux.
Sound: onboard 7.1 [not positive, keep reading]
I reformatted both HDD's to Windows XP PRO SP3. Setup my network for both pc's, which I messed up somehow, but that can wait.
What I'm looking for assistance on is in Device Manager, I have two yellow question marks and no install cd's for any hardware [except video card].
The first one is for "Multimedia Audio Controller", which I believe is for the onboard sound. I can't seem to find the driver online.
The second is for "SM Bus Controller". I'm not sure what this is or where to get the driver.
I'm sure I can get more info if needed.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Tye

Go here to MSI's driver download page, you will have to fill in the boxes (Manually Download) to get what you want...

Arctos & JB,
Thanks for the reply, that is the link I was looking for. They have both driver updates for me. JB, I cant use live update as I haven't been able to connect that pc to the web. Not sure why yet. I figured I should start with getting all hardware recognized then move toward the web then network both pc's. I'll be back for the networking as its been a few years since I did it. Much appreciated. Tye. |
