Windows XP/2000 - processor issue posted in the Operating Systems forums; I have a celeron 2004mhz processor. but my bios shows only 266 mhz. how is it?...

I have a celeron 2004mhz processor. but my bios shows only 266 mhz. how is it?

I think processors are made up of small individual cores or core sectors where (in your case) each one operates at 266MHz for a total of around 2004MHz.

Most processors have either 6 or 8 of these 'mini cores'. Note that I am not exactly clued up on this fine detail of processors so the terminology is probably wrong.

If you download AIDA32 (google it) that will give you information on your processor and will list them as the individual cores and tell you how many they are.
