Hi there, unsure if this is allowed or supposed ot be posted here, but I am considering building a computer, decent spec not top of the rang but now to low end, was wondering if anybody had any sources of cheap parts as if it goes succesful I am going to try and build a couple to sell possibly all depends, I know ebuyer and places like that, was wondering if anybody knew of any cheap places even if its minimum order stuff, it would still be handy information for now or the future. Thanks

Hi levi.
I don't know if it's the same in the UK or not but I can tell you I love to build PC's and for a home builder in Canada it's next to impossible to compete with the DELL's of the world and attempt to make a profit in the process. I tinker out of love and because it's a hobby but I sure don't make much money at it.

Yeah its similar here its very competetive on the market but the frustrating thing is you can build a better pc yourself fopr half the price of a worse one if one of the major stores.
Its not so much of a mega money maker just somehting that interests me and could make small amount of money from it, also repairs and that can help people with so worth a little try, thanks for the reply. Does anybody else have any ideas what type would be best, maybe build a gaming pc or just a decent spec machine for now etc any info or help is apreciated. |

computer hardware, components, systems and peripherals at the lowest prices from IT supplier Aria Technology
Cheap Laptops, Hard Drives, LCD Monitors, TVs and more at Ebuyer The two cheapest. Sadly I find aria is usually slightly cheaper than ebuyer (I've been using ebuyer for a few years now). I myself have spec'd a dual core PC with 4GB RAM, a Centurion (cooling case), Lightscribe drive, decent Graphics Card, 160GB HD for about £255.00 Note that if you want an Operating System it would cost more unless you already have the disk. As for how much it would cost you, that depends on what you want to use it for. A general PC for home/office use (reading emails, browsing internet) you could probably build for £150 and probably somewhere near £100.00 if you are very sure of what you need. For example, most home users (NOT gamers) would only need 1GB RAM maximum and maybe only a single core processor. This takes maybe £50-60+ off the £255.00 spec. And you could get a basic case for about £10-20 which is another £30 or so saving. Bringing your total already to around £170.00 etc |

I often see newegg.com recomended for parts. Unfortunately they don't deliver outside the USA.
There are plenty in the UK, e.g. Novatech, Misco, overclockers, Microdirect as well as Amazon UK and play.com. I've bought from them all over the years and if you take your time you can get huge diferentials in price. I don't think you will make any profit though, friends yes money no.
