Default Internet connection problem with XP

Hello,
I have kind of a wierd problem going on with my computer. It has Windows XP. A few days ago I was looking for a reseller hosting plan. My computer worked flawlessly. I ended up going with phoenixhosting.com. All that day I could'nt do anything with the hosting plan because it wasn't activated yet. The next day, computer still working great, I try to log on to phoenixhosting.com and am unable to all day. I was getting an error that said they were using a certificate from another website. I was unable to log in at all. I was finally able to get ahold of them and they checked it out and said it was something they had done for thier sites security the nite before. They fixed it and I was finally able to get at the hosting plan. I uploaded the first site and it was great! I had to upload a few more files and I was done. The next day I was again unable to log in to their site, my newly uploaded site, and various other sites. I was also unable to see any of the files that I had uploaded to the site.
So, when I try to load pages, sometimes they won't load, or they will partially load, every now and then they even load properly. I have tried your registry fix as well as doing it manually. I have ran every virus scan, adware, malware program that I have. I have reinstalled drivers for the Nvidia ethernet ( oh yea, Comcast broadband modem going to a netgear router going to pc with XP and another with 2000). The pc with 2000 does'nt seem to be bothered by any of this. I have reinstalled the router. I've tried to read as many articles related to this problem as I could. I find some regarding "host not found" (which is another error I'm getting), but they usually refer to the problem never letting you on some site. That's where I got the regedit idea. Didn't work, though.
Now at the same time, my sites are being monitored by several of those sites (internetseer, webhostmonitoring, etc...) and I'm getting several email throughout the day saying that my sites are down and up all day long and thay seem to be getting the same kind of errors that I'm getting.
On my end it's more than just those sites. Some programs just flat out won't connect. Malwarebytes for example, will not update. I even begged! Works perfectly fine on my wifes computer.
Does it sound as if I have 2 completely different problems here?
I'm really kinda stuck here. I have this reseller plan and 8 websites to go up and it seems like the hosting service is messed up and my computer is messed up.
Is it possible that something happened during the Filezilla upload of the first site?

Hi - welcome to PCHF - the talented team will endeavour to help..........

So off the top of my head....

1. Do a System Restore to a date prior to the problems starting.

2. Download Firefox Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable | Mozilla Europe - see if that helps

3. Follow the PreWork link as below - I note your comment about Malwarebytes so do the Hijackthis section.

Hi,
Thanks for helping me.

1. Do a System Restore to a date prior to the problems starting.
Unable to. When I try to check for past restore points ( I have made them periodically) There are none.

Tried that. No difference at all.

3. Follow the PreWork link as below - I note your comment about Malwarebytes so do the Hijackthis section.
Done.

Here is the log from Malwarebytes. I uninstalled it this morning and reinstalled it. Before, the last update was from 2/6/09. Because it won't connect to the internet I was unable to update it to the current database. I generally run Malwarebytes every other day.

Thanks for that - whilst waiting for the Security team a bit of housekeeping can't be bad.

So download:

CCleaner from CCleaner - Download
Then install.
I suggest when asked untick all the options apart from the top one

CCleaner:

Under the Cleaner section: select “Run Cleaner”

Under the Registry section: select “Scan for Issues”

(when asked about registry “Backup” save & then accept where it saves it to.)
then “Fix Selected Issues”

Do the Registry option again..(and again until no issues found)

I have CCleaner. Ran it. Nothing.

Your domain: notjustmyflorida.com is not responding!
The error was: Unable to connect to the remote server
I'm getting these several times a day from both of the sites that were briefly up at phoenix, but they are both back at Yahoo and I'm still getting them. Of course, as I said, periodically, I can't connect either.

Ok. Now Malwarebytes is able to update. I'm also able to see my sites again. The whole site. I'm also able to see Adbrites site (One of the ones I could'nt get to). I have absolutely no idea why these things started working again.
I'm still unable to log in to phoenix. The address is http://phoenixhosting.org/billing/clientarea.php

Can someone else check this. Naturally the guy (probably 17 year old kid) says it ain't his problem and that it's my system.

Can someone else see if they can load any pages from phoenixhosting.org? I'm still having issues with this site. I wasn't able to see any of my sites when they were up there. The guy says it's my problem, not theirs. He says their site is hosted on the same server, but since I can rarely see their site thats not much comfort to me.
