i have a toshiba satellite 1115-s103 laptop with windows xp home. when i start up the pc it goes to the screen that is light blue with dark blue borders on top and bottom with the windows xp logo and will not go any further

Restart the machine and repeatedly tap F8 can you then get into safe mode?

Please post your system specs at...
Click on User CP
Slide down to Edit Options
then slide down to System Specs.
Also, set the option pulldown to YES.

Download/run the scan (it's FREE).
It will give you the specs on your computer.
