My pc was attacked by virus.. and gives me "Reply PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" (death of blue screen). Window defender managed to catch it, so I thought... after rebooting it as it gives warning. The in the half way - my pc crashed while I was working... and since then it alwasy gives me "Error Loading Operating System". Boot it with WIN XP disk... it says... "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: Windows root \system32\hal.dll Please re-install a copy of the above file." Dont know how to copy Boot.ini to my PC as it cannot detects any drive at all (RAID0) Tried it with Linux Knoppix too - cannot see teh drives... AM I dead? I have a strong feeling that my files are still intact... jsut have to see teh drive...

hi Thanks But I have tried all those... I think the virus may have "wiped out" my boot files... that is why it cannot be "seen". cannot do Bootcfg and commands like that...

So you can't perform a repair install?

Maybe someone else will have an idea, this is still marked as [Open] so the Tech's know to take a look.

Hooray, I have mananged to get into Windows now... but when i try to back up - it keeps crashing after like every 20 mins or so...
