I got a problem.
The other day my HP dv4K running XP Home suddenly had ~5 error mesages pop up all at once (you know the ones with the RED X type). I dont remember what they said. Right after that the PC locked up and I had to manually shut it down..no problem Im sort of used to that. Then it took about 1 hour to finally complete a restart. I tried to access the system restore feature but it would only open up a white screen (white screen of doom?) I let it sit there for ~ 1 hour & no change. At that point I used the HP Windows recovery CDs to correct all of my problems or so I thought. My PC starts up fine now and I am able to load MS Office and some software into it but when I try to start Outlook I get the outlook screen faded grey color and the Configuring Outlook 2003 accounts box on the screen for ~30 seconds then a message appears and displays: Outlook encountered a problem and needs to close. I'm not sure if it with my registry or something else. I have reloded the Recovery CDs several times as well as Outlook in an attempt to correct this problem.
I would greatly appreciate any advice/help in identifying a possible sollution, suggestion that would lead to the repair of my PC problem. Thanks in advance
, Mike
