I just upgrade from window me to window xp and for some reason my cd rom will only play some cd and will not play others ,what i am not sure of is if this exist before the upgrade or not.
Do anyone have any idea what can cause this and how to correct it.?

You might try cleaning the CD.

Are you getting an error message?
If yes, send up a snapshot of the error.

There is no error message, i tried cleaning the cd but that don't help.

What CDs are you having problems with?
Are they DVDs?

They are music CD's

Can you define which type play and which one don't?

As an example:

Are the ones that play originals and the ones that don't play copies?

There is no set pattern it play some copies and some originals
