first of all hello, I know this is a first post and I should go through all the intro motions but I want to find out what is going on . I have my own vinyl graphics business and use a lot of different programs. I've noticed lately that when I open any program it kind of flashes (flickers) it's not the monitor, it happens when you have to drag a vector node or even when using Word. Could it be a Ram issue? this thing only has 1g ram, and there are a lot of different things attached, plotter, wide format printer, ex hard drive, and so on...
if there are any ideas I would love to find out how to fix it.

What do you exactly mean by "flash"? Does the screen flicker or does it go off and then back on?

no the screen doesn't shut off, it seems like the movement of the item is kind of jerky, slow...does that make sense?

Yes. Most likely perephrial devices are bogging down your system. Try removing some external devices you don't use and see if that helps.
