Finished a computer. Computer tells me the 10/100 lan connection is OK and working fine, but computer wont connect to internet. It did at my house, but won't at neighbors. He just had high speed hooked up. We both use same cable company. and aren' a mile apart. Is it his cable connection or computer?

From a command prompt, please type "ipconfig /all" - without the quotes and a space before the /

What information is returned?

Any change if you power cycle your cable modem?

Problem solved. Re-Booted cable modem box and its working fine now. Wasn't computer, it was cable. Their tech couldn't find problem. Sorta makes you wonder doesn't it?

I've heard that cable modems can be finicky. Glad it was an easy resolution for you. Thanks for getting back to me.
