hp presario s4214bd boot up problem
This computer has a Phoenix BIOS 4.0 Release 6.0. It's showing a POST code of 6Eh. The screen initially shows the Compaq splash screen, the BIOS/hardware info and will give the option to boot from CD (if there is a disk in the drive.) It will even start to load the CD (Windows XP install disc), but then stops. After that it only displays a blinking cursor. Thats where my flip code card shows the code 6Eh. Can anyone give me an idea of what hardware or software is failing here? Thanks in advance.

I found info about the 6Eh POST code at Phoenix's website -see below URL http://www.phoenix.com/NR/rdonlyres/...ospostcode.pdf Do you have other memory that might fit this system to test the RAM? Or could you remove all but one stick of memory and try booting that way?
