Give some thought (and reading of the Router's manual) to configuring Wireless Security on the Router. Without security configured, people could attach themselves to your Wireless signal and make use of your Internet connection. If the manual isn't clear on how to configure WEP or WAP security, we're here to help.

Thanks for help DCI, but i have a bigger problem. I bought my netgear wireless router, and i was halfway through installing the software that came with it when my internet just went dead. Now i cannot open my internet at all. Ive tried reinstalling all the software and have disconnected my wireless router. Also it says i have an invalid ip address, and in the right bottom corner of my screen there is a little picture of a pc, and there is small yellow dots over it - and my connection says acquiring connection. My internet provider said it was my browser and i should reinstall my internet. What should i do, i dont think its my internet browser.

I would agree with you. That doesn't sound right.

Your connection is still modem to computer, correct? Without the router being fully installed, you should not be going through it. If you aren't connected like that, please reconnect as specified above and power off & back on your router.

Once done, what is your IP address? You can find this by going to Start -> Run -> type "cmd" without the quotes and then enter. At the command prompt, type "ipconfig" and enter. Please provide the information that the system returns.
