hi, i've been getting a blue screen a bunch of times now and it's really irritating!! but what causes a blue screen? i've always thought it was because if a hardware failure. is this wrong? if it is could some one please give me the definition of a blue screen? thanx!!

Most often its the drivers for the hardware.

If you have plugged in any new USB or other devices recently, unplug them.

Try turning the PC on with just the keyboard, maybe the mouse, power and video cables plugged in.

First try booting to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly after turning the PC on until you see it). If that works, try booting normally.

It would also help to know the error...either the code or the text of it. eg IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
