recently when i open a media player like vlc player or a windows xp window, the file, edit, view etc. buttons at the top turn white when the mouse cursor goes over them. it mostly happens with vlc player sometimes on firefox, windows explorer and other windows. does anyone know how to fix this. thanks

Do the media players still play media files?

My Media Player Classic button have a grey background when I hover the mouse over them, it is supposed to do that.

So I reckon this is what is happening in your case, have you changed themes or skins recently as these change how things look?

everything works normally and before it didn't used to turn white when the mouse hovered over the file, view buttons.
