Default Why is my AMD Athlon 64 Processor +3400 failing?

I run hlds(cs 1.6) server and it randomly freezes, 99CPU usage, my cpu temperature is in high 20's. So i don't think it's overheating problem, also my gpu is at 90C which is very high for card but I don't think it has to do anything with it. I fully reinstalled my pc and it still happens. Does anyone know what's the problem? I didn't have this before but now i have this problem for ~ 2 months... When it freezes my pc still works i can still use ALT+TAB, but not all the time. Also, sometimes screen just goes black and on monitor it says computer went to sleep. I think its "overload" problem but idk how to fix it and why it crashes...

Hello Dariogi and welcome to PCHF.

As far as I'm concerned your GPU is running pretty hot and most certainly can cause strange problems that affect the rest of the system.

Try to improve the cooling in some way whether it's simply a good cleaning or additional fan if the one cooling the card is still OK which it may not be.

All too often people take a quick glance and figure as long as they are turning fans are fine but that's not true.

I've replaced numerous CPU fans (or GPU same difference) that would still turn but the problem was they did not do it at the right speed and/or did it intermittently causing freezes and automatic reboots.

Popped in a new fan and all was well.

Thank You!
I though it was my cpu temperature but my fans only run at 40%, I can remove my video card, I will still have it same issue. I noticed that my cpu is in constant stress, i play cs 1.6 i run the server and then i minimize it and im on my dekstop,my mouse keeps going to (0,0) point. I think my cpu sucks My ram? 512MB 256MB 256MB, BTW I didn't have have this problem before, it started occuring 2 months ago, I got my video card 1 month ago... anyways what cooling fan should i get currently i have 939 socket mastercooler or something

I don't think your CPU is too hot but at 90C the GPU is getting there.

Personally I'm not too fond of mixing memory as you have according to that post so it's very possible codex is onto something.

Run memtest and make sure your memory passes then at least we'll have that eliminated.

Also what operating system?

For gaming you are definitely on the low side memory wise.

XP performs quite well in games with 2GB RAM.

XP professional but its media center edition=bad I know it's bad but o well. I think i have enough ram cuz i still get ~ 500 available. For emtest do i really need to make bootable disk?
