I recently got a used pc from a relative that did not really work because it has spyware. I didn't want to go through the process of locating and removing the spyware or installing an anti-spyware program. I have a WinXP Pro CD and since nothing of mine is in the pc, I just figured I would re-install a fresh copy. I have set the boot sequence to boot from the CD but nothing appears, it just loads the regular WinXP. Also, everytime I reboot, it asks me wether I want to start in WinXP Home Edition, Win XP Pro(Spanish) new installation, or some other option that I can't remember.

try taking the hard drive off the boot sequence all together, see if that will force it to boot from cd.
