Hmmm last I checked I have not plugged in a Ricoh memory stick. Any ideas?

EDIT:

The only other thing I have found is this.

After installing or re-installing Microsoft Windows you may encounter one, two, three, or more base system device under the Windows Device Manager.

This occurs when the drivers for the card reader on your laptop or computer is not properly installed.

To correct this issue either locate the drivers on any drivers or software CD that came with the computer or visit the computer manufacturers website and locate the drivers for your computer card reader.

Many manufacturers will list these drivers under the removable media and/or chipset section.

Sourced from here.

Have you tried deleting the Base System Device from Device Manager and rebooting your computer, so that Windows will install the driver correctly?

I shall do that. I crashed my install of XP after I tried to dual boot XP and Ubuntu and hal.dll got corrupted. Couldn't get into Recovery Console because it was admin passworded and apparently Windows hates it when I put the admin password in correctly.

Ooooh It's getting late. I need sleep I'm glad I stopped myself otherwise I would have ranted all night about how much I love microsoft.

Anyway, rant over. *goes off to uninstall stuff from device manager*

*pokes JB again before he leaves*

Lucyyyyyyyy I'm homeeeee!!

Yeah. That didn't work. Now all it's doing is bothering the bejesus out of me to reinstall the "device"

Also, just to humor myself I looked at the three devices. Theyre all the same vendor ID but different DevID's of 0843 0852 and 0592
