Default Browser history

I live in a house with 2 other people. We share internet service. My laptop is connected to the network through a wireless card. There is one other laptop user in the house and a desktop that is hardwired. Can my house mates see my browsing history? Where is this information stored? Is there any way to keep my browsing history private?

Depends how good they are and how good you are.

If you haven't "Shared " anything on your PC then the answer should be No.

Please advise Vista or XP operating system.

Like the above poster mentioned, your browsing history is stored only on your computer. Some routers do store information, but it depends on the make.

If you are concerned about this, then you need to go to the router gateway (i think its called), basically your wireless routers "personal webpage" from which you can view settings etc and configure stuff.

Check out PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall it has detailed picture guides on how to access you routers gateway and the default passwords etc. and how to change settings on your router.

Good luck! Dont get paranoid about it, even if it is stored on the router, i doubt it is stored for more than a few days.

also, use the "firefox" internet browser, or google chrome. Both are free and both have easy to use, one button click to clear all browsing history, form information etc
