Hi Guy's. I am running an Optiplex GX 260 with WinXP Pro. I have been trying to get my Pen Drive to boot from USB, but there does not seem to be any provision in BIOS for setting the USB as a Boot option. Is there any way around this? Has anyone out there tried to do this? I have a small Linux OS on the Pen Drive and it would have been good if I could have booted it from the USB. Appreciate all and any help on this. Regards Walt

You need to update to the latest BIOS revision to get the BIOS options.
Once done, adjust the BIOS settings. BIOS settings: "Hard-Disk Drive Sequence" 1 USB Device 2 System BIOS Boot Devices "Boot Sequence" 1 Diskette 2 CDROM 3 Hard Drive LegacySelect Options: "USB Keyboard emulation" ON "Fast Boot" OFF |

Here you go:
# USB Flash Device — Insert the key into a USB port and restart the computer. When F12 = Boot Menu appears in the upper-right corner of the screen, press <F12>. The BIOS detects the key and adds the USB key option to the boot menu. I found the GX260 user manual here if you need it. The bit above is found down near the bottom of the page here. Documentation A Linux pen drive distro site with a fair bit of info on as well... Boot and run Linux from a USB flash memory stick | USB Pen Drive Linux
