Also a good boot CD: ubcd4win
In order to mount all the information onto another hard drive or copy you need to create an img of the drive using Nortan Ghost32. System32 Corrupted files fix: Copy C:\windows\system32\repair\ System Sam Security Defualt Software Rename: C:\windows\system32\config System Sam Security Defualt Software to System.old Sam.old Security.old Defualt.old Software.old Copy the new repair files from C:\windows\system32\repair to C:\windows\system32\config MAKE SHORE YOU DO NOT OVERWRIGHT!!!! RENAME THE FILES FIRST!!!!!! IF YOU DO NOT YOU WILL CORRUPT THE INSTALL EVEN MORE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REINSTALL THE OS!!!! NOT EVEN A SYSTEM RECOVORY WILL WORK AFTER!!!!!! If all goes Well you will beable to boot into windows again, Note: you will have to reinstall all your drivers

It is always best to use a GUI boot CD that comes with explorer2, this way you can see all your files in a windows tree
Extra: You might want to go ahead and also rebuild your boot.ini file after words. (This fix does mean it will work forever, normal corrupted files are due to a bad hard drive clusters. Start thinking about investing some money into a new hard drive) Last edited by JukE; 10-21-2008 at 04:49 AM. |
