Hello, I recently replaced the motherboard in my other computer and it requires sp2 to be installed for it to work..and it didn't.
I tried to make a disk with sp2 on it, but when i try to boot from it, it will start booting from the hard drive, without attempting to boot from the disk at all.
So, could anyone tell me how to make a bootable disk so i can install sp2?
thanks

Hello fatalwounds.
I just made myself a slipstreamed bootable disk for my XP PRO SP2 so that SP3 is included and I did it using this visual guide and nLite I'm assuming one should be able to use the same basic procedure to create a slightly different flavor.

Yes double check what JB said and just to recap when I made my disk it was a two stage process where first it did the slip streaming and then I had to go back and use the nLite function that makes the disk bootable.
My first effort didn't work either as I attempted to do it all in one shot by checking both boxes. If you are certain you burned it correctly then the only other thing I can think of is I have encountered the odd machine that for whatever reason seems to not like the brand of CD I used and when I burn on a different brand it works fine.
