As a gamer you are obliged to look for something newer.

As to what depends on your budget as has been mentioned.

Definately tome for a new rig. there's no point in wasting your hard earned cash on upgrading what you've got..

do NOT upgrade this machine, although with a fresh install, it will work fine as a general PC (browsing, word processing etc). I freshen up desktops similar to yours all of the time, and if you get all of the junk off, they work fine.

However, for $600 you can have a nice dual-core gaming machine with dedicated graphics care that will run any current game (albeit not on max settings), and it will literally give 3dmark06 scores of 50x what your old machine is capable of.

Keep the old machine for general use, but if you game, buy a gaming PC
