I looked up the display adapter on the device driver and it didn't give make and model. It just says Video Controller (VGA compatible). It has a yellow exclamation point next to it. When I right click it and select update driver, it says it could not load the installer.
I've tried many times to right click on my desk top and select properties to change my resolution, but nothing happens. And there's no display icon in my control panel.
The system file checker ran all the way and didn't help anything.
I uninstalled service pack 3 and it still won't let me use my CD-ROM copy to either add windows functions or reinstall XP.
I tried copying the CD-ROM to my hard drive to do that other fix, but it crashed part way through.
One other piece of info, for problem devices in my system info, it lists Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Minipoint Adapter for Windows. It has a PNP device ID of ROOT\NET\0002 and for error code it says "This device is disabled." Is that any clue to a fix?

You need hardware drivers.

What is make and model of your computer?
What operating system are you running?I know it is XP but wich version.

The problem is your disk has a lesser service pack on it.

I posted you links early to help on the issue.

Hi, I've had this problem before on my desktop a few years back - and my problem lies within a certain file called rundll32.exe. Go to your Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and see if it's running, if not then you've found your problem. Reinstalling windows shall do the trick. If this is not the case, I can't think of anything else. I've filled in my input anyway.

My display adapter is NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (Microsoft Corporation)
My OS is Windows XP home edition 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
My machine is a Dell Dimension 4400
I tried to integrate Windows XP Service Pack 2 files into the Windows XP installation folder, but the copying crashed.
