i'm trying a fresh install, i am booting from xp cd, but when i am told to press any key, it boots to my desktop instead of blue install screen, i have my pc booting from the drive the disc is in
anyone have any ideas why ????

In BIOS load fail safe and defaults then set CD rom to first boot device.Iy your CD rom set as master via little jumper on it? We have a great Tech Team who will help you with this issue. I will mark your thread as "Open" in readyness for the team. JB.
