I used the restore cd's on my computer ,that was all in good working order, as i wanted to clear it. i used them according to the instructions in the Emachines desktop pc users guide i got with the computer. after using them the computer rebooted and came onto the screen where you have several options e.g to start windows normally or to start in safe mode. i clicked start windows normally and after reebooting it came back to the same screen. i repeated this several times and there was no change. i tried using the restore cds again and the same happened. its an emachines 620 with 2 restore cds.

Hey Adam, welcome to PCHF.
The only two possibilities I can see is if the PC has been upgraded since it was bought, or you have been given the wrong recovery CD's (check back with e-Machines to supply you the correct ones). Basically, restore CD's will only work on the PC that it was intended for from a hardware perspecive. If the hardware is different, then the restore CD's will not work. |

It maybe you need to boot from the Restore CDs.
Depending on your PC when booting keep tapping the DEL key (or the option presented on the screen for setup, maybe F2 or F12 or something else) In the BIOS you will find a boot option, make sure that booting from CD is the first option. Reboot with your recovery disk in the CD Drive. Report back
